I recently found out about an upcoming food-related event at The Korea Society in New York City. The Kimchi Chronicles host Marja Vongerichten and producer Eric Rhee will be at the The Korea Society on Tues May 3rd for a discussion and behind the scenes look at their upcoming PBS series on Korean food and culture. This documentary series follows Marja Vongerichten’s culinary journey through South Korea as she visits eateries, markets and kitchens, and is scheduled to air later this summer. I always enjoy watching food and travel shows. This one is interesting because it’s also a personal journey for the host, Marja.
About Making the Kimchi Chronicles:
Join Eric Rhee, producer, and Marja Vongerichten, host and wife of world famous chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, for an evening of conversation and a behind the scenes look at The Kimchi Chronicles. Through visits to markets and homes around the Peninsula, the 13-episode show—to air on PBS—explores traditional Korean cuisine, markets, and popular tourist destinations. Green tea will be served courtesy of AMOREPACIFIC.
