Ever picked up a knife to dice some vegetables and wonder why you’re having such a hard time and making a mess? Or maybe you’re trying to slice up the chicken but the pieces just keep falling apart? Well, it’s probably because we’re using the wrong knife for the job. After all, the design and characteristic of each knife serves a specific purpose. Bread knife for steak just doesn’t quite work, but the serrated blade of a bread knife is also good for cutting fresh fruits and vegetables.
Kendall College put together a simple infographic that highlights commonly used knives and kitchen tools. If you have a basic knife set, you’ll probably have atleast one of each kind. So next time whether you need to chop, slice, or peel, you’ll pick out the right tool for the job.
