The Blogger’s Ball at Gregory’s Coffee

Home Eateries Cafes The Blogger’s Ball at Gregory’s Coffee

On March 27th, Gregory’s Coffee held their first Blogger’s Ball at their 46th St location. Owner Gregory Zamfois invited members of the blogger community for an evening of mingling with coffee, drinks, and freshly baked goods.

In addition to the regular coffee beverages, they also offered some cocktails at the coffee bar. They served the Irish Greg, which was a blend of iced coffee, a shot of espresso and Bailey’s, as well as a Cranberry Pomegranate Vodka cocktail. Throughout the evening, they passed around trays of freshly baked goods. There were cookies, apple fritters, mini apple pies, donuts, and chocolate. There were so many sweets, I just had to order a cup of soy cappucino.

Gregory spoke about his philosophy as he plans to compete with powerhouses like Starbucks and Think Coffee by offering great customer service. “It’s less about putting them out of business and more about putting something new out into the marketplace. I wanted to bring the third wave to midtown,” he says. He adds, “the support from the blogger community has been tremendous at our 4 NYC locations. We continue to strive in providing them with free Wi-Fi and a place they can call ‘their office’. ”

As part of the festivities, Gregory presented some of his favorite blogs with a Gregory’s Coffee growler in an award ceremony. Awards were given to: Aldo Singer with Independent Media Mag for best Music Blog; Tereza Nemmessanyi with Honestly Now for best Online Advice; Jonathan Valdez with Orange Juice and Biscuits for best Fashion Blog; Jonathan Lee Mills Justin Ross Lee for Best Self Promoter; Yvonne Lee with Socially Superlative for best Night Life Blog; And yours truly was the recipient for best Foodie Blog! Thanks!

It was a fun evening with good company. I was also happy to learn about Gregory’s Coffee, since I tend to spend a lot of time in coffee shops and cafes. That’s where I like to go for productive work sessions. I look for spots that have good drinks/foods, ample seating, a nice atmosphere and definitely free wifi. Adding Gregory’s Coffee to my list.
