Steak dinner at the new apt

Home Recipes Dinner Steak dinner at the new apt

It’s been about 1.5 weeks since I moved into the new place. I still haven’t finished unpacking and settling down, but I’ve got a bed to sleep on and a the kitchen is somewhat operational. My bedroom got downgraded to half the size of my previous bedroom, but the kitchen in the new place is very spacious and there’s a gas stove. I like cooking with a gas stove so much more than electric stove tops.

The past weekend, my partner came to visit me and we cooked a tasty steak dinner.

The steak was prepared using Emeril’s steak rub and a simple teriyaki marinade. We then pan seared the steak in a cast iron skillet with some sliced onions. On the side, we picked up some potato salad from the grocery store and heated up some Steamfresh rice and vegetables (very satisfying and super convenient for a quick side of rice).

We picked up a bottle of Relax Riesling wine. It’s a light tasty wine with a nice fruity and citrus taste. It goes well with many dishes in my mind. We couldn’t locate any wine glasses, so we used these Molson beer glasses instead.

The steak came out wonderful and the onions were super tasty. The Emeril’s steak rub gave the meat really good flavor. I really like using my cast iron cookware. It was an awesome meal for two, on a dining table in the middle of a room full of boxes.
