Lunch at Faneuil Hall Marketplace

Home Eateries Restaurants Lunch at Faneuil Hall Marketplace

While I was in Boston, I went over to Faneuil Hall Marketplace for lunch. I can’t quite remember the last time I was here, but it was many years ago. I did remember Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market to be a very fun place, filled with lots of tasty foods. It was a very nice day outside and I had about an hour to wander around, grab some delicious lunch, and enjoy the weather.

Dick’s Last Resort is known for amusing bad service and an outrageous waitstaff. While I was walking by, I overheard a waiter yell at his guests, “alright, i’ll go get your damn clam chowder” while waving his arms around. His guests found it entertaining and laughed. I still have yet to dined there, but I think it would be a fun place for a group.

Replica Cheers was built to be a replica of the Cheer’s bar as appeared on the tv show. It is really a tourist attraction. The original bar that inspired the show is located on Beacon street.

After snapping a few pictures, I ventured inside Quincy Market to pick something out for lunch.

I had a craving for a tasty lobster roll. There were a few options, but I decided to pick one up from the Boston and Maine Fish Company.

I think it was the display of all that shrimp and all those lobster rolls that caught my attention.

Lobster roll

The lobster roll was very tasty. It was a good sized roll with nice amount of lobster meat – for $14. Add a few bucks and you can grab a combo with a cup of clam chowder. The lobster meat is chopped up and mixed with mayonnaise and celery. The lobster roll is served cold with a piece of lettuce and a wedge of lemon. I think I would have enjoyed it more if there was less mayo and the chunks of lobster meat were larger. Oo, and maybe a toasted roll. Anyhow, I still found the lobster roll to be very delicious and very satisfying.
