I was excited to receive a sampler pack of Lavazza’s new line of specialty coffee blends – Gran Aroma, Classico, Gran Selezione, and Perfetto. Each blend consists of beans from a variety of carefully selected origins, roasted with dedicated processes resulting in unique flavor intensities and taste. Personally, I tend enjoy dark roast and espresso roast coffees most. Everyone has their preferences and sometimes it may also depend on time of the day or what you’re pairing the coffee with. I like the distinct, bold flavors in dark roast coffee and find them to be less acidic. Lavazza is Italy’s most popular coffee and one of the best-selling coffee brands worldwide. Lavazza’s line of drip coffee blends offers an option for every coffee drinker, from medium roast, balanced aromatic blends to dark roast, full-bodied profiles.
So far, I’ve only tried Gran Selezione, their dark roast blend. I brewed a cup the other morning using a single brew drip coffee cone. Every since my French press broke, I’ve been experimenting with the coffee cone. The Gran Selezione is a premium Arabic blend sourced from Central and South American. It’s described to have chocolate undertones and a full-bodied taste. The flavor matched the description well in my opinion.
Classico and Gran Aroma aare both medium roast blends. The Classico is sourced from South American and Africa and known to have an intense aroma of dried fruits. It’s like their everyday kind of coffee. The Gran Aroma features a highly aromatic blend Arabica beans from South America. The Perfetto is made from Arabic beans from Central and South America. This espresso roast is said to have a bold flavor profile with a touch of caramel taste. I think I will try this one next. Meanwhile, I’m going to think of some innovative dish to incorporate the coffee or to pair with it.
