The Lakeview beer arcade Headquarters is planning on becoming the “largest pinball arcade in the Midwest” with the announcement of 20 to 25 pinball machines covering an additional 7,000 square feet. The owners at Capacity Bar Group said Thursday that they are shuttering the adjoining establishment Uncle Fatty’s Rum Resort on May 4 to make way for the Headquarters expansion.

Headquarters opened last October as a craft beer/cocktail bar and video arcade inspired by Brooklyn’s Barcade. Best of all? Games are free. No coins necessary. They offer classic games such as Street Fighter 2, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Contra, X-Men and recently added WWF Wrestlemania in time for this weekend’s annual slobberknocker. They don’t serve food, but they’ll offer you delivery menus so that you can refuel while gaming.

Headquarters Beercade is located at 950 West Wolfram Street by Sheffield Avenue, a block away from the Diversey brown line.

Headquarters is one of two beer arcades in Chicago. The other is Emporium Arcade Bar (1366 North Milwaukee Avenue) in Wicker Park.
