Green Split Pea Dal Recipe

Home Recipes Green Split Pea Dal Recipe

Dal is a stew prepared from pulses, like dried lentils, peas, or beans that have been removed from their hull and split. It’s often enjoyed over rice or with bread. There’s many different kinds of dal, but it looks like the most basic process simply requires lots of boiling and a nice mix of spices. Dal can be very nutritious and a great source of dietary fiber and protein. I decided to give it a try using green split peas. The dish turned out pretty well and flavorful. I went easy on the spices since I was a bit concerned about overdoing it. The dal had a thick consistency. I served it over some toasted pita bread and it made quite a tasty bite.
