Frozen yogurt shops

Home Eateries Restaurants Frozen yogurt shops

At first, there was overpriced coffee and the growth of coffee shops down every other block (if not almost every corner in the city!). They charged over $2 for their house-brewed coffee and even more for lattes and that sort. In addition to coffees and teas, they also offered overly sweeten pastries and snacks. Some shops were kind enough to provide free wireless Internet (Sweet! In this case, I don’t mind overpaying for the coffee.), while others make you pay for it. (Darn it!). Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of coffee and I still go to these coffee shops for sitting around, to use their Internet, or just to read a book or use my laptop. Well…

And then there is trendy slightly overpriced frozen yogurt!!! Now, you can overpay for frozen yogurt served in little cups with a spoonful of tiny pieces of chopped fruits and toppings. Just wandering around New York City, I can encounter a handful of frozen yogurt shops, such as Pinkberry, Red Mango, and Red Cherry. Local delis and eateries also started offering similar frozen yogurt treats. The prices range from $3 to $10 cups. They charge on average about $5 for a decent sized cup with few toppings. Each additional topping costs about $0.95.

I have to admit though… these frozen yogurt treats are delectable to eat and the shops are totally fun and trendy looking.

More to come…
