I’m a huge coffee person and I love starting the day with a nice warm (or iced) cup of delightful, quality coffee. So when I found out about Godiva’s latest seasonal coffee flavors, I was definitely excited to try a cup. I received two 12 oz bags of Godiva Coffee, as part of a Foodbuzz Tastemaker program with Godiva Coffee. The two flavors, inspired by Godiva’s most popular chocolates, were Pumpkin Spice and Caramel Pecan Bark.

The coffees are crafted with high quality, medium-roasted, 100% Arabica beans for a rich, smooth taste. These indulgent flavors just the thing for the fall and are available for a limited time only.

When I saw the words “pumpkin spice” I couldn’t wait to brew myself a cup. I decided to make a cup of Pumpkin Spice coffee topped with almond milk sweet cream. Usually I enjoy my coffee unsweetened with just some non-dairy milk, but I decided to treat myself this time. I prepared a cup of strong coffee using my Vietnamese coffee dripper. As I scooped the coffee out of the bag, I can smell the enchanting scent of the pumpkin spice. It was definitely very aromatic!

For the almond milk cream, I gathered 1/2 cup almond milk, 1 tbsp agave nectar, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, and 1 tbsp thickening agent (I used lotus root powder, but corn starch or arrow root powder works too). I heated all the ingredients in a small pan and whisked it with a mini hand blender, but it got foamy and thicken a bit. You can replace substitute another milk of your choice if you like. It’s a simple and easy way to make your own creamer, and you can adjust the sweetness to your taste too.

If you’ve ever poured almond or soy milk into your coffee, you might notice that sometimes the milk curdles due to the acidity of the coffee. I learned a neat trick to prevent that from happening. Shake the milk in the carton thoroughly before use and pour the milk into the cup first, before the coffee. This works great for me with no risk of floating milk particles making the coffee odd to drink.

Godiva has put together a collection of indulgent recipes on their website, that’s surely worth checking out – from coffee beverages to decadent desserts. You can find the coffee at your local grocery stores. Godiva is currently offering a coupon for $2 off any 12 oz bag of Godiva coffee too, so here’s your incentive to brew a cup for yourself.
