1. Happy Village – 1059 N. Wolcott Avenue – www.happyvillagebar.com
This dive bar in the Ukranian Village has two ping pong tables in the back room. Happy Village has a surprisingly laid-back atmosphere even when the party gets rowdy on the bar side during weekends. Playing requires a two drink minimum.

2. Southport Lanes & Billiards 3325 N. Southport Avenue – www.southportlanes.com
This Lakeview hangout is known more for their bowling and pool, but there’s also three ping pong tables in the billiards room. You’ll have to pay to play except on Free Ping Pong Mondays. Another option is to form a team with one other person and participate in a recreational ping pong league through the Chicago Sport & Social Club.

For something a little different, take a look at this trendy restaurant/cocktail bar in the Clybourn Corridor. Ada Street is the farthest thing from a dive bar and other places that tend to offer ping pong, but Ada Street stands out with a cool backyard fitted with picnic tables and a ping pong table. Call ahead for more information/reservations.

4. Streeters 50 E. Chicago Avenue – www.rushanddivision.com/streeters-tavern/
At Streeters, a game of ping pong might transform to beer pong. This basement dive bar is fitting for those in college or not too far removed from it. If that atmosphere works for you, you’ll be immersed in a lively evening of games and drinks.

Keenan O’Reilly’s Pub is your unassuming, hole-in-the-wall dive bar with all the essentials: cheap drinks, darts, pool table, jukebox and of course, a ping pong table.
