The Village Voice’s sixth annual Choice Eats is only weeks away and this is a tasting event I’m especially excited for. The evening is a galore of food samples from restaurants handpicked by Village Voice food critics Robert Sietsema and Tejal Rao.
Choice Eats will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 6:30 – 9:30 PM at the 69th Armory on Lexington Avenue. They recently announced 24 additional restaurants set to participate in this year’s event, bringing the total to 79, with final additions coming soon.
New additional restaurants are Anella, Brooklyn Brine, Carlo’s Bakery, Chinese Mirch, David’s Brisket House, EMVI Chocolate, Grandaisy Bakery, Juliette, La Newyorkina, Landbrot Bakery, Le Midi Bistro, Max, Ovelia Psistaria, Peanut Butter & Co., Peppa’s Jerk Chicken, Pig & Khao, Resto, Rosamunde Sausage Grill, S’more Bakery, Tabata Noodle Restaurant, The Good Batch, Woodland and Yemen Cafe & Restaurant. The full list of participating restaurants can be found here.
The event will also feature DJ sets by Vito & Druzzi, best known as members of The Rapture. In addition, special guest chef-celebrity, Sarah Simmons, founder of CITY GRIT and recently named as one of “America’s Greatest New Cooks” by FOOD & WINE Magazine, will host a demo for all VIP ticket-holders during the VIP hour from 5:30 – 6:30 PM.
Tickets are nearly sold out, but general admission tickets are still available.
The Village Voice will once again partner with the non-profit organization Slow Food NYC for the event and plans to donate a portion of ticket sales. Hope to see you there!
