The Village Voice’s 5th Annual Choice Eats is just days away. I’ve never attended but have heard many great things about it – large crowds, long lines, but so many great restaurants and lots of delicious food selections. Luckily, I will be attending this year’s event and I am very thrilled about it. Choice Eats features handpicked restaurants from all five boroughs, along with complimentary craft beer pairings, wine and liquor beverages. There will be about 68 restaurants featuring foods from over 35 nations including Vietnamese, Italian, Uzbekistani, Brazilian, Cambodian, Russian, Tunisian, and Cajun/Creole among many others. There’s pretty so much food, you might want to go there with a game plan. Events like these are always a great opportunity to sample signature dishes from restaurants, ones that you might be curious to dine at, have heard lots about, or even to revisit familiar favorites.
It was quite overwhelming from just skimming through the list of participating restaurants. There’s so many wonderful restaurants, each just as appealing, and I can’t imagine how intense the event will be like next week. I’ll definitely have to take some time to come up with a list of spots to sample and check out. Suggestions and recommendations are welcomed!
