
Miki Sudo won the “Ribmania IV” eating contest Friday at Ribfest Chicago, upsetting No. 1 ranked competitive eater Joey Chestnut and earning a cool $2,000.
According to Ribfest officials, Sudo of Las Vegas devoured a total of 2.9 pounds of baby-back ribs.
Contestants had eight minutes to eat the most baby-back ribs provided by Rub’s Backcountry Smokehouse.
Chestnut, who has won the last six Nathan’s July 4 Hot Dog Eating contest, was making his Chicago competitive eating debut.
Ribfest continues through Sunday at Lincoln/Irving Park/Damen. The nearest Brown Line is Irving Park.
