Tickets are now ON SALE for the 6th Annual NYC Food Film Festival where guests taste what they see on the screen! This event, produced in association with the James Beard Foundation, runs from October 17th to 21st and will benefit the Food Bank For New York City.
This year’s Festival will feature six different events showcasing 40 food films, 18 world premieres, and over 100 foods and drinks, plus an Awards Ceremony hosted by NBC’s Cat Greenleaf. Highlights include an authentic Lowcountry Oyster Roast featuring 20,000 South Carolina Oysters freshly harvested in Bulls Bay, the return of the notorious Food Porn Party with pig tails from NYC’s own Brooklyn Star and hand-forged Top Pot Doughnuts from Seattle, and world renowned ramen expert Keizo Shimamoto who will journey from Japan to demo & serve his famous ramen.
Festival Director George Motz said, “In our 6th year we have hit our stride at the Food Film Festival. Once again the quality of the food films being submitted just gets better and better. The events surrounding those films will be unforgettable and tasty!”
Among the 18 world premiere films, a few highlights include “An L.A. Pastrami Story,” the story of Legendary Langer’s Deli in Los Angeles, “Sugar Shack,” a documentary that explores a Canadian maple farm at the peak of maple season, “Meat Hooked!,” a documentary about the rise and fall (and rise again) of butchering, “Ramen Dreams,” a documentary about blogger & chef Keizo Shimamoto, who follows his obsession for ramen to a small noodle shop in Tokyo and “New York Cooks for Tohoku,” documenting a group of world renown chefs who journey to Japan to cook for tsunami victims.
