Welcome yourself to Fall with Lincoln Square Apple Fest 2012 on Saturday, Sept. 22 between 8a.m. to 5p.m. at Giddings Plaza at 4700 N. Lincoln Ave. (between W. Leland and W. Lawrence). Now in its 25th year, the neighborhood festival celebrates everything apples: apple pies, candy apples, hot apple cider, apple pizza and more.
Since this is Lincoln Square, Apple Fest is especially children-friendly. At the Kids Zone near Lawrence Ave., every hour will begin a different activity. Pooch Parade kicks off the festivities at 9:00 a.m. and will be followed throughout the day by Science of Soda, Story Time, Wiggleworms, Roll ‘n’ Play, Family Yoga, Story Theater, Stories and Songs and a Kids Dance Party.
Meanwhile, live musical performances will go on most of the day at Giddings Plaza.
By public transportation, take the brown line to Western or take the #11 Lincoln bus to Leland.
