Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose is now a part owner of Giordano’s, the Chicago-style stuffed pizza chain announced Thursday. Rose recently bought a stake in the company and will become the brand’s national spokesperson.
“I’m proud to call Chicago my hometown and I’ve grown up with my family eating Giordano’s pizza,” Rose said a statement. “I’ve always loved Giordano’s, so this was a uniquely personal opportunity for me.”
Rose will begin appearing in Giordano’s advertising, consumer promotions and charitable efforts later this month. Giordano’s, which currently has 40 locations in the Chicagoland area and three in Florida, is looking to broadens its national profile.
There are plans for a new menu this fall with a variety of stuffed and thin crust pizza, new salads, sandwiches, pastas and desserts. Also, look for Rose’s very own signature pizza.
“I’ve always been a big fan of their stuffed pizzas,” Rose added. “I’m working right now on my own signature pizza that we plan to introduce very soon. I’m actually pretty good in the kitchen.”
