Hi Ms. Turner,
sorry the recipe didn't work out for you. too bad, i don't really know the exact measurements for the ingredients, since i usually just do it to taste after i throw in the ingredients.
did you buy dried bean curd sheets or the rolls? i used the dried rolls and they work fine.
the bamboo shoots are from the Buddha's delight I added to the stew.

This was very confusing because the posted ingredients are not measured. When I made this I used about 2 sheets of dried bean curd and crumbled it into the pot. I didn't soak it in water, because the sheets were so thin. I used 1/2 a head of nappa cabbage, 1/2 cup of frozen peas, a package of shiitake mushrooms (it was listed as 5 oz.), 4 scallions chopped in the cooking pot. It looked like a lot of ingredients for a small amount of water so I added 6 cups of water, and 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 1/4 cup of rice vinegar, 2 table spoons of sesame seed oil. Sprinkled a tea spoon of sugar, sprinkled 2 teaspoons of salt, and sprinkled 1 1/2 teaspoons of pepper. It has an odd flavor. If I make this again I'm going to try and change it up, maybe use less sugar. Also, the picture of the stew has bamboo shoots, but that is not an ingredient listed. This was something interesting to try, but the person who posted it didn't give me much detail to work with. This was not a well defined recipe.
