While browsing the Angry Asian Man blog, I came across this McDonald’s commercial featuring an appearance by Parry Shen (dude from Better Luck Tomorrow) and his “funny dance”. It’s usually the sake bombs and soju shots that unleashed the inner pop stars, rock stars, rappers, etc. at karaoke outings, so I found it quite amusing to see Chicken McNuggets do the job of alcohol and bring out the singing and dancing in this fun past time activity. The next thought that came to mind was… how they manage to smuggle so much McD’s without getting in trouble with the karaoke establishment. lol.
This sweet chilli sauce that’s featured in the commercial is one of the new dipping sauces now available at McDonald’s. Which reminds me, I sampled it last month at the the McDonald’s First Taste Event. It’s a bit sweet and not much chili, in my opinion. It kind of tastes like the Chinese duck (plum) sauce. It’s not bad. I was just happy they didn’t call it “Asian sauce” or anything like that.
Now when you order McNuggets, there’s a total of eight dipping sauces to choose from: Creamy Ranch, Tangy BBQ, Sweet ‘n Sour, Chipotle BBQ, Spicy Buffalo, Honey Mustard, Hot Mustard, and Sweet Chili. Of course, there’s always ketchup, mayo, and any combination of dipping sauces you might come up with. My preference would probably still be honey mustard, or if I was at home… horseradish mustard!
