The inaugural Poutine Fest will show off the best poutine Chicago has to offer on Feb. 24 at the Haymarket Pub & Brewery in the West Loop.
Poutine, originated in Quebec, Canada, is a fast food dish comprised of french fries topped with gravy and curd cheese.
Poutine Fest is both a competition and a sampling event. A poutine “king” will be selected by a panel of judges as well as by popular vote.
Ticket information is expected to be released soon. There will be two sessions: one lunch, one dinner, each running around three hours.
Participating restaurants so far include Haymarket Pub & Brewery, The Boarding House, Leopold, CRUX, Scofflaw, El Ideas, The Publican, The Gage, Sable Kitchen & Bar, Pleasant House and The Peasantry.
