Chicago’s Little Village Festival (Festival de La Vilita) celebrates Mexico’s independence from Spain, and the 24th annual street festival is this Friday through Saturday, September 6 to 8.
Here’s the low down:
Friday (9/6): 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Saturday (9/7): 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Sunday (9/8): 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Location: 2600 South Kostner in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood.
Admission: Free admission!
The highlight of the festival is the Mexican Independence Day Parade on Sunday at noon. The parade will begin at 3100 West Albany and moves west on 26th Street to Kostner.
