Chefs Across the Country Unite for National Eat Local Day – Sept 22

Chef Sarah Stegner of Prairie Grass Cafe in Northbrook, IL and Cindy Kurman of Kurman Communications, Inc . in Chicago have founded National Eat Local Day to be held each year on the Fall Equinox. This year, it falls on Sunday, September 22nd. The idea behind National Eat Local Day is to encourage restaurants and chefs to offer at least one locally sourced menu item and to raise awareness about supporting local sustainable farms. Several restaurants across the country have joined to together to support this mission and will be offering special menus on Sunday.
