Joey Chestnut, the No. 1 competitive eater in the world, makes his Chicago debut 6 p.m. today (June 7) at “Ribmania IV” at Ribfest Chicago in North Center. Chestnut is best known for beating Kobayashi in 2007, 2008 and 2009 in Nathan’s July 4 Hot Dog Eating Contest. He’ll be hunting for his seventh consecutive Nathan’s title this July.
Before that, he’ll be chowing down at RibMania. Eight minutes of baby-back ribs provided by Rub’s Backcountry Smokehouse.
Nicknamed “Jaws,” Chestnut will be taking on Michelle “Cardboard Shell” Lesco, Bob “The Notorious B.O.B.” Shoudt, Juan “More Bite” Rodriguez, Miki Sudo, Andrew “The Bear” Kogutkiewicz, Erik “The Red” Denmark, Eric “The Mouth of Milwaukee” Hucke, Andrew “Chicago Style” Skweres and Brett “The Ravenous Rabbi” Bernstein.
