Here are some nice spots in New York City for fresh gourmet pretzels and pretzel-related foods:
- Specialty German brezeln (pretzels) from Landbrot Bakery & Bar can be enjoyed plain or buttered. Choose from salted, sesame, poppy seed, or sunflower. Or if you’re big into cheese, try their savory pretzel pockets with melted gouda cheese.
Find them at 185 Orchard Street in the Lower East Side, or 137 7th Ave South in the West Village.
- In addition to classic pretzels, sandwiches in pretzel rolls, and hot dogs in a pretzel bun, Sigmund’s Pretzel also makes a pretzel cookie. The Wanko is made with peanut butter, chocolate chip and pretzel chunks.
Find them at 29 Avenue B, between 2nd and 3rd Ave in the East Village.
- The City Bakery brings you the pretzel croissant. It tastes like a pretzel but with the texture of a croissant.
Find them at 3 West 18th Street, near 5th Ave in Flatiron.
