McDonald’s Tri-State restaurants recently announced the return of the McDonald’s New York Metro Nutrition Network. This program, which began last year, is a community outreach initiative created to provide seed funding to local non-profit organizations to promote and enhance nutrition education programs within their communities. For the second annual Nutrition Network, the McDonald’s owners are teaming up with Dasani. McDonald’s will be offering $25,000 worth of grant funding, while Dasani will offer an additional $5,000.
Local non-profit organizations are encouraged to apply. Applications will be evaluated based on the expected impact of the proposed program on nutrition awareness in the community. Six organizations will be selected, each receiving $5,000. Application information can be found here. The submission deadline is May 15, 2013.
Last year’s recipients include: Let’s Celebrate (Hudson County, New Jersey); SoBro (Bronx, New York); Star Inc., Fairfield (Fairfield, Connecticut); Hillside Food Outreach (Westchester, New York); Island Harvest (Long Island, New York).
If you know of any non-profit organization that can benefit from this opportunity, please spread the word.
