Brewmaster Jared Rouben Latest to Leave Goose Island



Jared Rouben, the pub brewmaster of Goose Island Clybourn, will be leaving this month to launch his own food-focused brewery.

Speaking with the Chicago Tribune, Rouben said he hopes to start producing his own beers by the end of 2013. His yet-to-be-named brewery will feature a taproom to showcase his food-focused brews.

“The goal is to find the best ingredients and create beers with layers of flavor,” said Rouben. “I can’t emphasize layers of flavor enough.”

Rouben has been the Goose Island Clybourn pub brewmaster since January 2010. His exit comes on the heels of brewer John Laffler leaving Goose Island to start Off Color Brewing.
