5 Rabbit Cerveceria’s “5 Lizard” won Beer of the Year at the 2012 Chicago Beer Hoptacular Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Riverfront Theater.
The same beer won a Gold Medal for best fruit wheat beer last month at the Great American Beer Festival.
Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company’s “Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale” and Brewery Ommegang’s “Art of Darkness” won second and third place honors, respectively.
Last year’s winners were Destihl Brewery’s “Dosvidanya Russian Imperial Stout” (First Place), 5 Rabbit’s “Vida y Muerte Ale” (Second Place) and Piece Brewery’s “Camel Toe Egyptian Pale Ale (Third Place).
