Terry Home Romero’s latest vegan cookbook, Vegan Eats World features her take on a wide variety of dishes from around the world. I’ve been looking forward to it for a while and was so excited when I finally received it in the mail. I had a great time being involved in the recipe testing process of the book. I made some sesame wow greens, her take on oshitashi, spicy kale coconut relish, a Sri-Lankan inspired dish, and fresh noodles in miso broth.
Vegan Eats World is definitely a wonderful resource and a fun cookbook for vegans and others who are interested in vegan cuisine. The first part of the book “Kitchen Cartography” contains useful tips and basic preparation guides, cooking methods, common terminology, along with some details on ingredients and also useful kitchen equipment. The second part of the book is all recipes organized by type of dish. There’s a whole chapter on various types of spice blends. Another chapter on incorporating international flavors to tofu, seitan, and tempeh. Following is chapter on pickles, chutneys, and sauces. There’s salads and sandwiches, soups and stews, dumplings, breads, noodles, pastas, vegetable dishes, rice and whole grain dishes, and of course, dessert. The third part of the book contains additional useful resources, metric conversations, menus and recipes by icon. Nothing is overly intimidating at all. This book will have you exploring new flavors – vegan, healthy, and delicious.
Check out her other delightful cookbooks like Veganomicon and Viva Vegan! And for tasty treats, Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World, Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar, and Vegan Pie in the Sky are lots of fun.
