Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 is Learn to Homebrew Day, a hobby holiday established to encourage people to homebrew by the American Homebrewers Association. Anyone can participate by attending a free event or workshop held by breweries and brew clubs across the U.S.

In the Chicagoland area, the Evanston Homebrew Club and Brew Camp will be at FEW Spirits (918 Chicago Ave.) in Evanston from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help people understand the basics of homebrewing.

In NYC, visit Brewstoria (23-84 23rd street) between 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to learn how to make extract and all-grain homebrew and how to bottle and keg your own brew.
