ABOUT CHEF SUNIL KUMAR:
Growing up, Chef Sunil Kumar spent most of his time at his family’s restaurant in Punjab, India before moving to the United States in 1989. Throughout his life, he has surrounded himself with traditional Indian culture and cooking – his true passion – and has found a way to share its many health benefits and favors with guests of Bombay Spice Grill & Wine.

Kumar previously co-owned a series of Indian restaurants in the New England region, and served as the master chef for Cedar Steakhouse at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. In 2007, he moved to Arizona to embark on his career at Bombay Spice Grill & Wine, a modern healthy Indian concept that soon took off in Phoenix. Chef Kumar’s goal is to offer his clientele an elegant and palate-satisfying experience without breaking their bank accounts or diets; in both Phoenix and at the recently opened Chicago location, he presents Indian food that is wholesome, flavorful and satisfying.

With a rising focus on eating healthy, he believes more people will benefit from his dishes without feeling as if they have sacrificed the pleasures of eating. “To put it simply,” Kumar says, “my food is healthy but delicious.” In ten-year’s time, he hopes to expand health conscious delicious menus throughout the Chicagoland area and across the United States.
