From Oct. 12 through Oct. 21, New York City and Hudson Valley is celebrating the second annual Cider Week. Restaurants, bars and shops in the area will offer tastings, flights, pairings and other events in an effort to build appreciation for regional ciders.
The agricultural not-for-profit Glynwood founded Cider Week to support local orchards while reviving heirloom apple varieties.
Highlights of the week include “Cider Sessions” with Beer Sessions Radio at Factory on Kent on Oct. 13, “A Cider Revival” at New Amsterdam Market on Oct. 14 and “Applepalooza 2012” at Astor Center on Oct. 18.
