Bleeding Hearts Bakery is a neat Chicago bakery that uses local, sustainable, and organic ingredients to assemble their “punk rock pastries.” While I was in Chicago last year, I made a visit to their old Roscoe Village location to pick up some baked goods. They have since moved to their new location at 1351 West Belmont Ave. Unfortunately, they recently announced that they will be closing their locations August 5th.
I was excited to learn that they also have vegan-friendly items.
I picked up an assorted box of their vegan baked goods (at a discount thanks to a Groupon special that they had running at that time).
The assortment was quite awesome.
A bag of cake balls
Scone with oats and dried fruit
Raspberry bar with a pecan streusel
Fudge brownie with walnuts
Another brownie with peanuts
And two chocolaty cupcakes!
