Soybean sprout salad

Here’s a simple recipe for light appetizer or side dish. Soy bean sprout salad.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound soybean sprouts
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tsp roasted sesame seeds
  • salt and pepper

Directions

  1. Blanch the soybean sprout in a pot of boiling water for a 3-4 minutes.
  2. Drain well and set aside to cool for a few minutes.
  3. Place soybean sprout in a large bowl.
  4. Stir in the sesame oil, sugar, vinegar. Add salt and pepper, to taste.
  5. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on the soybean sprout salad.
  6. Serve at room temperature or chilled.

For garnish, add some chopped green onions, red pepper flakes, or shredded seaweed.

No-knead bread… at last!

It has been long overdue, but I finally made my first no-knead bread. A couple months ago, I bought a cast-iron dutch oven and Jim Lahey’s My Bread: The Revolutionary No-Work, No-Knead Method cookbook. I have been anticipating making my first no-knead bread for quite some time after hearing all these positive comments and feedback about how simple and easy the procedure was and how delicious the bread turned out. International Waffle Day

Tomorrow, March 25th is International Waffle Day. Time to eat waffles!! Belgian waffles! Liege waffles! Scandinavian waffles! Hong Kong style waffles! Sweet waffles! Savory waffles! Gourmet waffles! Chicken and Waffles! Waffle sandwich! I’m so excited!!!!
