Teaposy offers a line of gourmet teas, teapots, and glassware. Their teas are handcrafted with cotton threads to give a blooming effect. I forgot where I came across this product and what store it was, but I found it to be pretty neat and decided to pick some up for amusement. I purchased a box of the Lady Fairy tea, which is a combination of silver needle tea, jasmine, and lily. I decided to pass on the teapots and glassware. The box of 6 tea blossoms balls was pricey enough. I figured I could probably dig up some clear Bodum glassware at home.

I came across some neat videos on youtube displaying this blooming effect from the tea balls. Teaposy – Blooming Teas
They looked very impressive and exciting. I was hoping that my tea blossom would create the same striking effect. Even though it did not end up looking as extravagant as I expected, it was still pretty neat. Each snapshot was taken about 30 seconds or so apart. Come to think of it, it would have been neat to take a video or a larger number of still shots and turn it into a slide show or video.

There’s Red Cherry. This one started early this year in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They are popular in the Twin Cities area and have recently spread to the east side. They opened one in 34th Street area in Manhattan, NYC, just about a block away from both a Pinkberry and a Red Mango.

What’s up with their yogurt?
The yogurt comes in plain, raspberry, and swirl. Fresh fruit toppings include kiwi, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Other toppings include M&Ms, captain crunch, fruity pebbles, chocolate chips and granola.
I have never tried this one. I was tempted to go inside. Their choices of toppings are about the same as the others. Their yogurt comes in plain, raspberry, or a combination of both. The store was not as lively as their counterparts, Pinkberry and Red Mango, which were close by. I stood at the door contemplating whether to go in or not. I decided to pass and look them up on the Internet instead. Next time…
For now… I wonder how many more shops will join this battle of frozen yogurt…
There’s Red Mango, which was started in Seoul, South Korea, back in 2002. They are known as the “original” one. They have multiple locations scattered around NYC, most of which are within a block or two away from Pinkberry.

I have tried their yogurt only once before. The interior is very similar to Pinkberry, just a different color scheme. I was considering going to pick up another pricey cup of yogurt (to happily consume and also, to take a picture), until I saw the line!! This is their 34th Street area store, right in Korea Town. Yeah, I would have probably passed out from exhaustion before stepping into the store.

What’s up with their yogurt?
The yogurt comes in original and green tea. Fresh fruit toppings include mango, banana, pineapple, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, and strawberry. Other toppings include dried fruits, nuts and cereals like cocoa pebbles, fruity pebbles, and captain crunch.
In my opinion, their yogurt is very similar, if not alike, to Pinkberry. I just noticed a slight difference in the consistency of the yogurt. Red Mango was a teeny bit thicker than Pinkberry, in my opinion. Other than that, I don’t think I was able to tell to differentiate them. Both places offer about the same types of toppings. I normally like to get the fresh fruit toppings, instead of the dry toppings. I wonder if there is a difference? Next time I should eat them side by side. Any thoughts?
